Using the Reports Browser and Report Viewer
Who is this article for?Noise analysts who need to view, navigate and manage generated reports.
Access to the ANOMS Noise Analyst Workbench is required.
The Reports Browser allows you to monitor, open and manage reports created with the Reports Wizard, whilst the Report Viewer displays the report content with navigation and export options.
Accessing the Reports Browser
The Reports Browser displays all reports created using the Reports Wizard, with options for viewing, printing, exporting and scheduling.
To access the Reports Browser:
- In the Reports menu, click Reports Browser.

Understanding Reports Browser functions
The Reports Browser provides the following functions:
- Copy – Copy the selected records to the clipboard
- Export to Excel – Export the selected records to Excel; if no records are selected, all records are exported
- Print – Print the selected records to the local network printer
- Download – Open the report in the Report Viewer
- Delete – Delete the selected reports
- Report Topic – Display all Report Topics
- Properties – Display the Report Properties, where you can rename a report and publish it
Viewing a report
To view a report:
- In the Reports menu, click Reports Browser.
- Click the required report.
Understanding Report Viewer functions
The Report Viewer provides functions to navigate the report, drill down through its levels, and export it to other formats:
- First page – Go to the first page in the report
- Previous page – Go to the previous page
- Next page – Go to the next page
- Last page – Go to the last page
- Go to page – Go to a specific page by typing the page number
- Close – Close the current view
- Print – Print the report to a system printer
- Refresh – Refresh the content of the report
- Export – Export the report to formats including Crystal Report, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, and data-only Excel
- Group Tree – Toggle the group tree panel
- Zoom – Select the required magnification from the list
- Search – Search for specific data in the report
Note: The last page of every report shows the selection criteria and other report information — check it if you are unsure what a report covers.
Drilling down through a report
If the report has grouped data, you can drill down by double-clicking the grouped columns. Drill-down is available wherever the cursor changes to a magnifying glass.
For example, in a Runway Summary report, double-click a runway number to view the details of its departures and arrivals. The drill-down opens in its own tab; click the Main Report tab to return to the high-level report.
Deleting reports
To delete a report:
- In the Reports menu, click Report Status Summary.
- Select the required report.
- Click Delete.
