Creating and using a Period of Day
Who is this article for?Noise analysts who need to restrict queries to defined times of day.
Access to the ANOMS Noise Analyst Workbench is required.
A Period of Day lets a query select a specific window within each day, and then extract data for that window across a whole date range (for example, a shoulder period from 23:00 to 23:30 across a week).
Creating a Period of Day
To create a Period of Day:
- From the Tools menu, select Options.
- Expand the General label.
- Click Period of Day.
- Click New.
- In the Name box, type the name of the Period of Day.
- In the Description box, type a meaningful description.
- Set the Start time (hours and minutes).
- Set the End time (hours and minutes).
- Click Save.
Editing a Period of Day
To edit a Period of Day:
- From the Tools menu, select Options.
- Expand the General label.
- Click Period of Day.
- From the Period of Day list, select the required period.
- Change the details as required.
- Click Save.
Deleting a Period of Day
To delete a Period of Day:
- From the Tools menu, select Options.
- Expand the General label.
- Click Period of Day.
- From the Period of Day list, select the required period.
- Click Delete.
Note: You do not get a warning when deleting. Be careful — you may be affecting saved queries that use the Period of Day.
