Understanding ANOMS browsers and their common functions
Who is this article for?Noise analysts who are new to working with ANOMS data browsers.
Access to the ANOMS Noise Analyst Workbench is required.
ANOMS browsers are tabular views that display Operations, Noise Events, Complaints, Violations, Weather and Aircraft data for a chosen time period, with every browser sharing a common set of toolbar functions, row counters and record-selection behaviour.
Understanding common browser functions
The following table describes the toolbar functions available in all ANOMS browsers:

New Query | Create a new query. |
Open Query | Display the list of saved queries. |
Copy | Copy the selected rows to the clipboard. |
Print the selected data to a network printer. | |
Graph | From the Operations Browser, creates a Track Profile graph for the selected data. From the Noise Events Browser, creates a Noise Event graph for the selected data. You can print, copy or export the graph. |
Word Export | Export the selected data to a pre-formatted Word template containing merge fields for the data. |
Excel Export | Export the selected data to an Excel workbook with merge fields for the selected data. |
Properties | Displays the appropriate properties window for each browser. |
Using browser row counters
When a Load Filtered Data query completes, the number of rows returned is displayed on the status bar for every open browser.
Each row counter has context help: place the cursor over the counter to see the total number of rows and the number of rows currently selected.
Selecting records
To select one record:
- Click the required record.
To select a range of records:
- Click the first record.
- Hold down Shift and click the last record required.
The range of records between the first and last selection is highlighted.
To select multiple individual records:
- Click the first record.
- Hold down Ctrl and click the next record required.
Each previous record stays highlighted as long as you continue to Ctrl-click each additional record.
Note: When the edit window is open, multiple records cannot be selected.
To select all records:
- In the data area, right-click and select Select All, or press Ctrl+A.
Unselecting records
To unselect a single record:
- Right-click the record.
- Click Unselect Record.
To unselect all records in a browser:
- Right-click a record in the browser.
- Click Unselect All.
To unselect all records in the workspace:
- Right-click any record.
- Click Unselect All Lists.
