Understanding correlated and uncorrelated records in ANOMS

ANOMS links related Operations, Noise Events and Complaints together using a Correlation ID, and your queries can return either correlated data only or everything in the time period.
Understanding how ANOMS correlates data
The correlation relationships follow fixed rules:
- A single Operation may be correlated to many Noise Events and to many Complaints
- A Noise Event can only be correlated to a single Operation
- A Complaint can only be correlated to a single Operation
- There is no direct correlation between Noise Events and Complaints — they are only related through their shared Operation
Weather and Aircraft data have their own correlation rules: weather records are correlated to Noise Events based on time (one weather record per Noise Event), and Aircraft records are correlated to Operations based on tail number (many Operations can relate to one aircraft).

Choosing correlated or uncorrelated records in queries
There is a parent/child relationship in the way query data is populated to the browsers: the browser where you run the query is the parent, and the other open browsers are the children. This matters when you choose the output option:
- Correlated Records retrieves only the data in the child browsers that is correlated with the data in the parent browser
- All Available Records (uncorrelated) retrieves all data for all browsers within the time period specified in the parent query, whether correlated or not
Because the parent controls the result, running the same correlated query from a different parent browser can return a different set of records.
Note: A record is selected if any part of the track data or noise event falls within the period selected in the query.

Filtering queries in ANOMS browsers
Beyond the mandatory time period, you can narrow a Load Filtered Data query with filters for Operations, Complaints, Noise Events, Aircraft and Weather data. Each filter lives on its own tab of the Load Filtered Data dialogue, and any filter left blank is simply not applied.
Note: If the value of any filter is left in its default (blank) state, the filter is not applied.
