Understanding why airports use ANOMS
As air traffic continues to grow around the globe, airports face increased community concern about the environmental impact of their operations. Despite substantial improvements in aircraft noise-reduction technology, communities are demanding tighter controls and are employing political pressure to achieve their goals. As pressure increases, airports face the very real prospect of having their development plans constrained on environmental grounds. ANOMS gives airports the tools they need to address these concerns effectively.
Enforcing legislative requirements
ANOMS gives you the flexibility to define acceptable operational limits for various environmental parameters. Excessive environmental impacts, such as noise exceedences, are recognised by the system as they occur and are identified as events. In addition to noise level infringements, ANOMS can define and enforce prescribed flight corridors and curfew hours.
All environment and flight track data is stored in a relational database. ANOMS enables automatic and manual correlation of events, so you can examine operations on a flight-by-flight basis to determine the factors that contributed to an infringement. Such factors may include weather conditions or air traffic control instructions.
Educating stakeholders
ANOMS is a valuable public relations tool for the airport, enhancing community appreciation of the airport's environmental initiatives. Use ANOMS to provide feedback to key groups including airlines, air traffic control, passengers, and community action groups, who all have an interest in the airport's operations.
